“Bravery” is perhaps the best word to summarize the intention, production and objective of the short film Leaves of K., which will have its world premiere at Sheffield DocFest Official Competition on June 24th.
This film, a co-production between Nicaragua and Costa Rica, was written and directed by Gloria Carrión Fonseca, founder of the production company Caja de Luz, and with a career worthy of being highlighted: Her first documentary feature film, Heiress of the Wind, premiered IDFA in Amsterdam in 2017, and in 2019 she premiered Days of Light, her first fiction film, co-directed with five other filmmakers from Central America, and was among the 95 films shortlisted to compete for the Oscar for Best Foreign Film.
